Easy Maple Bacon Deviled Eggs
Spring picnics and summer barbeques mean it’s time for deviled eggs. My family cannot start the festive occasion unless the deviled eggs are on the table or headed to the table. Out of habit, I don’t think about making deviled eggs outside of large gatherings or in smaller than one dozen and two dozen hard-boiled eggs quantity. That’s a lot of deviled eggs!
Recently I had a deviled egg craving and did not have a picnic, BBQ, or family event on the horizon. I broke with the norm and used six hard-boiled eggs, and my life was forever changed. I don’t know if “Small Batch Deviled Eggs” are a thing, but you could go smaller. My recipe easily could be cut in half using three eggs for the yield of six deviled egg halves. That’s the perfect amount for a couple or a family where some people around the table don’t eat eggs.
Florida Pure Maple Bacon Sea Salt
I was invited to try Florida Pure Sea Salt (www.floridapureseasalt.com) the small batch maker of gourmet sea salt based in St. Petersburg, Florida. Check the spice aisle at your local Publix, and you’ll likely find several flavor varieties, as I did. Florida Pure Sea Salt is vegetarian and vegan friendly, so I was excited to try the Maple Bacon Sea Salt as I cannot eat deviled eggs garnished with bacon found at the popular restaurants around Orlando. If you do not eat pork or are a vegetarian that eats eggs, this recipe is for you!

What is Sea Salt?
Sea salt is a type of salt that is produced by evaporating seawater. It is known for its distinct flavor and coarse texture, which comes from the presence of minerals in the water, such as magnesium, calcium, and potassium. Sea salt is often preferred by chefs and food enthusiasts over regular table salt for its unique flavor profile and perceived health benefits. Sea Salt can vary in salinity levels and be infused with flavorings such as Black Truffle, Garlic, Rosemary, Celery, Smoke, Horseradish, Chipotle, and any herb or spice you prefer. Sea Salt is commonly used in cooking and is believed to have some soothing and healing properties when used externally on the skin.
